FVRCF Launches “Donate per Deal”

For REALTORS® Chris Shields and Rob Christensen, supporting the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (FVRCF), was a given.

As Real Estate professionals, they have contributed countless hours serving as volunteers for the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB). Chris is a past president of the FVREB and chairs the Board Development Committee, and Rob is a current FVREB Director and has been teaching the New Member Orientation course for new REALTORS® since 2019.  

Beyond their contributions to their profession, Chris and Rob are also exceptionally community-minded and give to numerous local community groups and charities. Youth organizations, in particular, are close to their hearts. In fact, Chris, a former youth worker, knows firsthand the needs of our communities’ most vulnerable youth.

When the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation launched a new fundraising initiative, Donate per Deal, Chris and Rob were the very first REALTORS® to sign up.

Designed for busy REALTORS® with big hearts, the Donate per Deal program allows a REALTOR® to have a donation deducted from every real estate transaction or ‘deal’ they make. The donations are collected by their offices and submitted directly to the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.

“REALTORS® are incredibly generous, but they’re also very busy and their income can fluctuate greatly from month to month. Donate per Deal allows a Fraser Valley REALTOR®  to easily make a regular contribution to their Foundation,” says Chris Hodson, Executive Director of the FVRCF. “Once a REALTOR® signs up for Donate per Deal, they can rest assured knowing that their contributions are automatically going to a great cause.”

“We encourage FVREB members to do whatever they can in support of the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation,” remarks Chris and Rob. “Ask your Managing Broker about how you and your office can support the Donate per Deal program, volunteer, and get involved.” As Donate per Deal donors, Chris and Rob are now members of the Foundation’s loyal donors’ giving club, ‘The Riders Club’. All REALTORS® who sign up for the program receive a real estate sign rider from the FVRCF as a token of appreciation.
