FVREB and FVRCF Golf Tournament a Swinging Success

The 2023 Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) Golf Tournament held on September 7 and hosted by FVREB and its charitable arm, the Fraser Valley REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (FVRCF) was a swinging success! Under mostly clear skies and immaculate course conditions, Hazelmere Golf Course echoed with the clinks of iron as 144 golfers teed off for a great cause.

For the first time in three years, FVREB members, their families, friends, and clients returned to the golf course. An incredible record total of $35,000 was raised for the FVRCF in supporting charities that help improve the lives of at-risk youth – all in the name of REALTORS®.

FVREB Chair Narinder Bains said that while the FVREB Golf Tournament has been running annually for more than 35 years prior to the pandemic, teaming up with the FVRCF elevated the event by adding a fundraising component. He acknowledged the beautiful origin story of the FVRCF and the foresight of its founders, who were also FVREB past presidents. “Through this fundraiser, we are collectively adding to the legacy they started many years ago,” he said.

Arguably, the most memorable moments of the 2023 FVREB Golf Tournament were not on the golf course. Members enjoyed networking and sharing laughter with colleagues and other golfers. Golfers and guests were also moved by a powerful guest speaker from Kids Play Youth Foundation, one of the charities supported by the FVRCF.

“We are grateful for the ongoing support of the FVREB and its members,” said John Barbisan, Chair of the FVRCF. “Without the generosity of the REALTOR® community and the incredible tournament sponsors, this tournament would not have been possible.”
